EQUIMOB Kick-Off Workshop: Day 1
This two-day workshop was conducted at the Institute of Social and Economic Change, Bengaluru on 26th and 27th September 2019. All the team members from EQUIMOB project (India, Bangladesh and the Netherlands) took part. On the first day of the workshop, the PI of the project and few co-investigators presented their views regarding the project, which was followed by the proposal presentations of Post-doc and PhD candidates.
EQUIMOB Kick-Off Workshop: Day 2, Stakeholders Consultation
On the second day of the workshop, stakeholders from the government (smart cities mission and BBMP), NGOs working for older adults and people with disability, and organizations working in transport and planning presented they experience in the field and stimulated discussion on key themes of research and interventions.
Training on Visual Survey Methods
On 12th January 2020, EQUIMOB team and the UNFPA participants attended the workshop. Explanation of different types of visual survey methods, with a focus on environmental mapping for the EQUIMOB project, was carried out. The participants were introduced to cognitive mapping, behavioural mapping and tracking through relevant examples. Further, a hands-on exercise on cognitive mapping was done in order to understand how individuals interpret and use spaces. The training was conducted by Prof. Sanghamitra Roy.
Delhi City Lab Workshop: How to conduct research with people on the move?
On 30th January 2020, The Delhi CityLab of EQUIMOB presented a one-day interactive workshop to learn how fieldwork can be done effectively in mobile, urban settings. It focused on ways in which researchers can use observation, ethnography, and visual methods such as photo-elicitation and photo-voice to conduct research when participants are on the move in cities. This workshop is the first in a series of planned events by the EQUIMOB Delhi CityLab.
Knowledge Exchange Event: Urban Mobility Infrastructures and the COVID-19 pandemic: Wellbeing of Older Adults in Bangladesh
On 12th December 2020, researchers from the EQUIMOB Dhaka team held a knowledge exchange event with academics from the UK, Canada and Bangladesh, including urban planners from GIZ and Narayanganj City Corporation in Bangladesh, working in the space of COVID-19 and mobility in Bangladesh.
EQUIMOB annual meeting 2020
On 16th December 2020, EQUIMOB project team conducted its first annual meeting; which included all the principal investigators, consortium members, doctoral and post-doctoral researchers. The event was organised to provide an uptake on the research activities conducted in the preceding year. It was followed by constructive discussions on upcoming research plans and suggestions on how to guide these activities in the post-COVID times.

Policy Brief WriteShop
On 15th January 2021, EQUIMOB organized a Policy Brief Writeshop, conducted by Ms. Romy Sandpoort, that involved around 30 participants from Utrecht University, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Delhi School of Economics, Institute of Social and Economic Change (ISEC) from India.
