EQUIMOB Kick-Off Workshop

This two-day workshop was conducted at the Institute of Social and Economic Change, Bengaluru on 26th & 27th September 2019. All the team members from EQUIMOB project (India, Bangladesh and the Netherlands) were a part of this workshop. On the first day of the workshop, the PI of the project and few co-investigators presented their views regarding the project, which was followed by the proposal presentations of Post-doc and PhD candidates. There was detailed discussion after each presentation. The key comments received by experts on the team regarded key team, as the following:

– Literature review of suggested readings related to urban design, growth and evolution of public transport and city planning, history of travel in the city and travel behaviour

– Environmental components

– Spatial inequalities in megacities

– Earlier travel surveys

– The approach to sampling – who is included, who is excluded

– Migration and its impact on core-periphery

– How will you include informal workers in the research as they fall out of the public transport system

– How do we operationalize – caste, competence, older adults

– Community-based system-dynamics model

– How privatisation has negatively impacted road privatization, fleets, public transport
