Project Objectives
This project takes a people-centred approach to understand how urban mobility can be made more inclusive towards marginalised and vulnerable groups in India and Bangladesh.
The research questions are:
- What are the physical and socio-cultural barriers in the urban transport system that reduces vulnerable groups’ access to work, healthcare and education?
- What measures are available to ensure accessible, affordable and safe urban public transport?
- What people-centric interventions in urban mobility infrastructure can be co-designed to improve safety, acceptability and affordability?
- How can knowledge exchange between various stakeholders in urban mobility make transport infrastructures in cities more inclusive?
