EQUIMOB Presentations in SIGMI Conference 2020-2021

Our Colleague, Ms. Seama Mowri, presented at the Sustainable and Inclusive Global Mobility Initiative (SIGMI) Conference on Nov 26th 2020. She spoke about how women in Dhaka (Bangladesh) have constrained and conditional access to public mobility infrastructures, and are constantly negotiating safety considerations. She discussed gendered mobility concepts, governance issues in Bangladesh’s public transport system and how transportation structures and systems create, reproduce and sustain systemic differences in mobility for women.

Her talk inspired a group of students from TU Berlin to take up the topic of gender and mobility for their thesis. Ms. Mowri has been re-invited as a mobility expert for follow up panel discussion on #SIGMI2021 conference on Sustainable & Inclusive Global Mobility.
